The yacht and the food
Spica is a classic ketch built in South Africa in 1983 to a Bruce Roberts design: 43 feet long with two masts, a solid ocean-going hull, two suites with private bathrooms, a lounge and a deck made for long meals. She takes up to 10 guests and sails from Marina do Funchal with her owner, Captain João Gabriel, at the helm.
Madeira’s food, at sea. Fresh fish, local delicacies and wines from the island are part of the trip, and a private chef can cook a full menu on board, from Madeiran dishes to the grill on deck or a vegetarian menu.

Já fiz o passeio a bordo do SPICA por 2x e simplesmente adorei.
Desde a calorosa receção do João, o passeio com as vistas incríveis até às várias paragens, a salada caseira deliciosa preparada pela dona Fátima, os brindes com o vinho branco fresquinho, os mergulhos no mar e o fantástico por do sol. Foi tudo maravilhoso. Este é daqueles passeios na Madeira que tornam a viagem realmente inesquecível, e deixam memórias maravilhosas. Experiência a repetir e que vou recomendar vivamente 🙂

From Marina do Funchal, in the centre of Funchal. We confirm the exact pontoon and the meeting time when you book.
Comfortable clothes and shoes, swimwear and a towel if you want to swim, sun protection, and a light jacket for the return. Drinks and snacks are on board.
The captain decides on the day, with your safety first. If the sea does not allow the trip, we offer you another date or a refund.
Dolphins are not the aim of our trips. Spica sails for the coast, the swimming stops and the time on deck; it is not a dolphin or whale watching tour.
