In short: Five hours on a private classic yacht from Marina do Funchal, with a chef cooking on board: fresh fish and Madeiran dishes, the charcoal grill on deck or a vegetarian menu, with wines from the island.

This is the day charter for people who travel for the food. A chef comes aboard with you and cooks while the yacht sails along Madeira’s south coast: fresh fish, Madeiran dishes, meat on the charcoal grill on deck, or a vegetarian menu, with wines from the island.

The menu is agreed with you beforehand, so allergies and preferences are taken care of before you leave the marina. The trip lasts five hours, from the morning into lunch.

The yacht is private for your group, from two adults up to six guests. Book online at least 48 hours ahead, or send a message to talk about the menu first.

Questions people ask

How many guests for the chef charter?

At least two adults and up to six guests, so the chef can cook properly for everyone on board.

Can the menu work around allergies or a vegetarian diet?

Yes. The menu is agreed with you before the day, and the chef adapts it to allergies and dietary needs.

How far ahead do we need to book?

Online booking closes 48 hours before departure, so the menu can be prepared for your group.

Is there a price for teenagers?

Yes. Guests aged 12 to 17 pay half the adult price.

How many people can come aboard?

Up to 10 guests. Every charter is private: the yacht is yours for the trip, whether you are two or ten.

Where do we depart from?

From Marina do Funchal, in the centre of Funchal. We confirm the exact pontoon and the meeting time when you book.

What should we bring?

Comfortable clothes and shoes, swimwear and a towel if you want to swim, sun protection, and a light jacket for the return. Drinks and snacks are on board.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The captain decides on the day, with your safety first. If the sea does not allow the trip, we offer you another date or a refund.

Will we see dolphins?

Dolphins are not the aim of our trips. Spica sails for the coast, the swimming stops and the time on deck; it is not a dolphin or whale watching tour.
